Attansic L1 Gigabit Ethernet driver for Debian Etch October 25, 2007

Share pengalaman saat install Debian Etch di Motherboard Asus P5B-MX, yang mempunyai ethernet card merk “Attansic L1 Gigabit”, yang mana ethernet tersebut tidak terdeteksi oleh Debian Installer Netinstall.
Setelah mengetikkan sedikit keyword di google akhirnya saya temukan juga solusinya disini.
Disini saya hanya merangkum step-step yang saya lalui saat mencoba problem solving dari link diatas.
Ok, sebelum melanjutkan step-step cara menginstallnya, silahkan download dulu file “atl1.ko for 2.6.18-4-486″
Ok, skrg kita lanjutkan ke step-step instalasinya:
- ALT+F2 untuk masuk ke console mode
- ketik tail -f /var/log/syslog
- Insert Flashdisk (terdeteksi sebagai /dev/sdb1)
- mount -t vfat /dev/sdb1 /mnt/
- cp /mnt/atl1.ko /tmp
- umount mnt
- insmod /tmp/atl1.ko
- ALT+F1 untuk kembali ke installation screen
- Continue installation step…

Derita buat ane yang nggak punya bandwith gedhe, so… ndak bisa buru-buru nyobain Ubuntu Gutsy Gibbon yang barusan aja release tanggal 18 oktober 2007 kemarin 
Status shipit juga masih lama

Sekarang menginstall ubuntu semakin mudah saja, wubi adalah salah satu cara termudah buat yang baru belajar install ubuntu tapi masih takut dengan makhluk namanya Ubuntu
Di official website nya, wubi menuliskan :
