qmHandle 1.3.0 has been released. It adds some new delete actions based on sender or content found in the headers or body and tagging messages for earlier retry based on remote destination.
qmHandle is a simple program which allows you to view and manage the qmail message queue.
The key features of qmHandle are:
- Freeware and open source, under the GNU General Public License;
- More information provided when reading queue contents compared to qmail-qread
- You can print queue statistics, like qmail-qstat, with color capabilities;
- You can view a message in the queue;
- You can remove one or more messages from the queue based on a criterion or use multiple delete requests each having its own criterion;
- Written in Perl, and therefore easily customizable and truly multiplatform.

Solaris Better Than Linux – That’s Missing The Point! June 15, 2007

This is a good story, please enjoyed…
Open Source: Is Solaris better than Linux? Is Ruby better than PHP? All this is totally missing the point! Core stuff like OS, Web Server, Scripting Language And C Compilers – ARE GOOD ENOUGH.
Open source has been completely and utterly transformed over the last 15 years or so. Back when I was studying for my Ph.D. some of it was interesting, but apart from some pretty cool mathematical routines and stuff, it was light weight compared to the commercial stuff. That is totally not the case any more. The simple fact that much of the open source software around today is ‘good enough’ seems to have escaped most people. It might be boring but ‘good enough’ is probably the single biggest tipping point in the development of any technology; in my view, open-source is so different to closed source, we should consider it a different technology!

Commercial Linux distributor Red Hat Inc. and security vendor Symantec Inc. announced this week the pending availability of two secure server bundles that certify either Red Hat Enterprise Linux or the Red Hat Application Stack with the Symantec Critical System Protection.
The first bundle, called Secure Server Host, melds Symantec’s behavior-based, host-based intrusion protection system (HIPS) and detection technologies with RHEL for enterprise computing on servers with up to two processor sockets.
